About the Program
Generously funded by The Cone Health Foundation, the Congregational Social Work Education Initiative (CSWEI) program offers master and bachelor level social work students from North Carolina A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro a non-traditional opportunity to complete their internship requirements by providing community-based social work services to Greensboro area congregants/residents.
CSWEI has traditionally provided the bulk of case management services to the Interactive Resource Center. The IRC is also the service hub for CSWEI by providing office space and classrooms for the students. Interns are placed in agencies such as Greensboro Urban Ministries, Faith Action International, and in thirteen additional community organizations or programs.
CSWEI is an integral and essential part of Guilford County's direct services ecosystem supporting our most vulnerable populations.
